Wholesale market

As per its importance and size, it is the most respectable project of the Company. After the implementation, the project will raise the level of offers in agricultural produce and food products to higher levels, in all the assortments both in our city and in the whole country. The wholesale market will provide for abundant offer by local producers and importers, from first hand with no intermediaries that will significantly reduce the price of food products, thus having a direct impact on the life standard of all citizens.

The Feasibility Study for the construction of the wholesale market is in its final stage, together with the preparation of urban design and definition of proprietary package, planned to be built on 22 hectares in an attractive investment location on the highway. The current level of project completion is estimated at about 10%.

The construction of the Wholesale market is anticipated to take place in two stages, and for the second stage it is planned to build additional facilities at the location of the current Truck market in Belgrade. With the construction of the Wholesale market, our city will build a modern food stock exchange that will satisfy the most stringent European standards on food quality and safety.

Markets as squares

A completely new approach to the central City markets – Skadarlija, Kalenic and Palilula with the support of City Authorities will glow with the new shine as dual purpose locations – serving as markets and city squares.
Small stores at the market, looking untidy and a bit shabby after being used for a long time, will be substituted by modern halls for the sale of meat, fish, dairy products and other food products in the underground stores. New, refreshed stalls on the plateau will offer a variety of groceries during morning and early afternoon whereas in late afternoons and evenings, movable stalls will be removed to make way for a modern city square.

Markets as squares will be reconstructed to fit into the local ambiance and embellished with fountains, monuments and theatre stages in the open and a custom designed facility (except in Skadarlija).
The underground level is projected to have two and three storey garages for the public and the market users, to assist the citizens in finding a place to park. An undergoing survey on the urban and architectural design will provide also for the citizens to provide input on the future looks of the markets.
The current level of project completion is about 5%, as it implies a direct engagement of the City authorities, primarily urbanists in addition to the high level of involvement of Company staff.

Djeram

According to the urban planning documentation and architectural design, the project goes beyond the traditional definition of green markets.
Djeram market can serve a dual purpose as a modern business centre with two business towers in the premium city zone, including a square with flower arrangements, full of cafes and also a large underground garage for the needs of the market and its neighborhood.
It was on this very location that a well known architect Mr. Ognjen Djurovic designed and ennobled the main City Boulevard on its way to the Federal Assembly.

At present, the reconstruction project is underway, to obtain building permits and prepare for the construction to follow. The current level of project completion is estimated at about 25%.

In September 2012, when the construction is expected to be completed, our city will get what is expected to be the most modern market on the Balkans, with 32.000m2 of gross construction area. The excellent profitability rate, estimated at 17% is a positive signal for further development of our Company.
